Adding students using a spreadsheet

To start with, you need to get your excel file in the right format to upload!

        Open up a blank Excel document.



        Type in the following column headers: First name, Last name, Email address/username, Password, Class.
The Class column is optional, but highly recommended. If you aren’t going to include a class name then remove this column. If you are going to use it then make sure you Add a class (follow steps 1 - 4 and then click through to the end) to your account beforehand and that the name in your spreadsheet exactly matches the name of the class.



        Add your student data to the spreadsheet. You can copy and paste the details from whichever source you normally use (SIMS etc.)

If your students don't have email addresses, choose a username for each of them.

Set the password to whatever you like - your students will be able to change it once they log in.


        Click on Save as.


        Give your file a name and make sure that you save it as a .xlsx file! Click Save.


You're now ready to upload the file!

        Log in to my.thisisschool.com, click on your name in the top right, and select Student Roster.



        On the Student Roster page, click Advanced student upload.

        Select your excel file.

        Click Upload.

Your students can now log in with the email address/username and password given in the spreadsheet.
