Assigning work to a single student or subset of students in a class

As well as assigning work for a whole class, you can also assign specific exercises to a subset of students. 

You might find this useful for:

1. Assigning differentiated work for mixed-ability classes
2. Extension work for more able students
   
3. Extra practice for students who have found a topic challenging
   
4. Catch-up work for students who have missed a lesson(s)

Here's how it works:

1. When setting up the assignment, select the class that the relevant student(s) are in.
   
2. Select the 'Custom' option
   
3. Choose the student(s) you'd like to assign to from the dropdown list
   
4. Fill in the other fields as usual
   
5. Click 'Assign exercise'
   

All done! The students you selected will see the required work on their Assignments page.

Monitoring Progress

When it comes time to check in on students' scores, head to your Assignments page as usual. The results page will show you who the exercise was assigned to and the score they achieved.
