Score vs. Peanuts (points)
Score = the % mark a student achieves on any given exercise.
Peanuts (previously 'points') = This is School's reward currency that students earn by completing assignments.
When tracking your students’ progress on This is School, you'll be tracking the score they have achieved when completing any given exercise. Think of a score like a grade you would put in your mark book.
Students have the option to improve their score by completing an exercise an unlimited number of times, until they reach 100%.
To gain a broader understanding of the progress your students are making, you'll be able to monitor their first score, their best score and the number of attempts they've made at a particular exercise within the class in question!
When students complete an exercise, they will also earn peanuts (points) as a reward for their hard work. Students can then spend their peanuts in our Store to customise their This is School Avatar. Accruing peanuts will also influence students' positions on global and class leaderboards, hopefully leading to some healthy competition!
The number of peanuts students can earn from each exercise is capped to encourage them to move onto another exercise and continue challenging their knowledge.
See this article on Peanut (points) capping for more information.
