Grading Writing tasks

Grading Writing tasks

As soon as your students have begun submitting their Writing assignments, you can start marking/grading them.

This is School has a suite of handy tools and shortcuts to make grading and giving feedback much simpler. Just follow these steps:

1. Log in to my.thisisschool.com and click on the Assignments button on your homepage.

2. Click on the class whose work you'd like to grade and click View next to the relevant assignment.

3. Click the Grade button next to a student's work to get started.

4.  On the Grading page you'll see:
  1. The student's written work
  2. A Comments panel
  3. Sliders for the criteria of your chosen mark scheme
  4. An automatically calculated overall score and percentage

5. Highlight any portion of the text and click the Add Comment icon to give feedback or a correction. You can also optionally classify an error as spelling, grammar or vocab-related.

6. When you've finished adding comments, rate the response by adjusting the sliders and leave some general feedback.

7. Click Submit to send the marked-up text, plus comments and score to your student for them to review.
